Blackhawks poised for a serious run at another Stanley Cup
Shortly after the Blackhawks lost a tense Game 7 might-have-either-way gone in St. Louis in April, a steamer, ready to spit fire coach Joel Quenneville approached a podium after the game that seemed to I could not survive the night.
"Huge disappointment for me," Quenneville growled.
Huge, because Quenneville knew then - as it does today - that any team with the firepower of Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews Jersey and Artemi Panarin and goaltending notch by Corey Crawford should not be eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
But they found a circular on a talented team and blue, in fact, saw the squad Quenneville was not only wrong, but also to feel the effects of three arduous post-seasons in a row.
Now, a new season is upon us and re-energized Hawks will drop the puck against - who else? - The Blues at the United Center on Wednesday night.

CUTE HOCKEY FAN PHOTOBOMBED AT BLACKHAWKS-RED WINGS GAME
It was a photobomb that no one is upset about.
In the photo, Lylah Almas, a 4-year-old hockey fan Clawson, Mich., Poses in front of the penalty box in the game Blackhawks-Red Wings on Sunday in Detroit.
And in the background, players Red Wings Steve Ott and Dylan Larkin are smiling away.
The girl's mother, Shannon Almas, said he did not even realize that players were there as she held her daughter while her husband, Cary Almas, photo broke.
And for the record, the Blackhawks won that, the last preseason game.

Red Wings continue nice preseason with 6-3 win over Blackhawks
Red Wings of Detroit coach Jeff Blashill does not place too much interest on pre-season games.
Let's just say he'd rather win than lose them, but he is not convinced that they mean a lot as far as the regular season is concerned.
Blashill believes you play as you practice, however, and the wings had a solid camp so far.
If Sunday night is a further indication, a very pretty game preseason also shows.
Behind goalkeeper Petr Mrazek, Detroit beat the Chicago Blackhawks, 6-3, before a lively crowd at Joe Louis Arena in their fourth of eight preseason games.

Patrick Kane reports to Blackhawks training camp
CHICAGO - Now that the right wing Patrick Kane is officially in training camp with the Chicago Blackhawks, he is ready to focus on the upcoming season of the NHL.
After leading the NHL last season with a career 106 points and win the Hart Trophy, Art Ross Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award, each first, Kane knows the expectations of him will be higher than ever. That's why he did his best not to think.
"I always thought that if you think too much about the future, it will only go against what you are trying to do in this," said Kane, who skated in his first camp practice Tuesday at United Center. "I'm a big believer in wiping clean slate. There are certainly some motivation where you want to prove yourself again. It is a little on the back of your mind, but take [a] day by day basis, just as I did last year. "
