Patrick Kane reports to Blackhawks training camp

CHICAGO - Now that the right wing Patrick Kane is officially in training camp with the Chicago Blackhawks, he is ready to focus on the upcoming season of the NHL.

After leading the NHL last season with a career 106 points and win the Hart Trophy, Art Ross Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award, each first, Kane knows the expectations of him will be higher than ever. That's why he did his best not to think.

"I always thought that if you think too much about the future, it will only go against what you are trying to do in this," said Kane, who skated in his first camp practice Tuesday at United Center. "I'm a big believer in wiping clean slate. There are certainly some motivation where you want to prove yourself again. It is a little on the back of your mind, but take [a] day by day basis, just as I did last year. "

Kane, who played for the US team in the Hockey World Cup 2016 in Toronto, will not play in the first preseason game against the Chicago Blackhawks Jersey Pittsburgh Penguins at the United Center on Wednesday. Its availability has not been determined for the second game against the Penguins at Consol Energy Center on Friday.

The plan is to facilitate Kane, and others returning from the World Cup in the preseason games. This might be easier said than done.

"He'll probably want to do it sooner than later, but I think we can be patient because he has been playing games," said Blackhawks assistant coach Mike Kitchen. "Usually, veteran players, when you come into a normal camp, they want to play maybe two or three games to get their timing right. For him, it has already played a lot of games. There is no reason to do right away, so we'll just kind of make, especially so early in camp. "

Kane does not want to stay too long, fearing that the progress made during the World Cup could wear off.

"I think you should be careful in such situations because they want you to give a few days off, but you do not want to lose everything you gained from playing in the World Cup," he said. "It's always fun to come back. It feels like home, of course. I do not play [Wednesday], but it's one of those things where you want you go there and play in front of the crowd at the House."

As for the early exit of the US team in the World Cup, Kane Jersey said he did not take long for him to get over it. Pending the regular NHL season helped erase the sting.

"It was a situation, looking back now, where we lost against a good team [Team Europe]," said Kane. "They are now in the championship, and I think at this point, lots of outside noise that can be slid into our locker room a little bit."

Loss that stuck with him the most was the greatest rival of the United States team.

"We needed to beat [Team] Canada," said Kane. "You could say that we probably dominated, but we had chances in this game to keep us in it and ended up losing that one and we were out. fairly quick tournament for us, but you play in the World Cup of Hockey [and] you're playing for your country. it is always an honor to play for the United States. I always remember to play for my country and always want to do it if I get the opportunity. "
